Christmas Spirit of "Keeping it Local"

I am loving this "Keep it Local" mentality! If you have a chance swing by this event December 3rd.

double christmas

Christmas dinner at my house: Turkey, Ham, Mashed taters, sweet potatoes, green bean casserole, broccoli casserole, mac and cheese, cranberry sauce, rolls, and six desserts.

Christmas dinner at my mentors: Ham, broccoli casserole, potatoes, fruit salad, rolls, and one dessert.

Needless to say this was a total culture shock for me this year yet different is good.

As said in my previous post, I plan to do a "Theme" dinner every year with my family. So things will never be the same.

Guest list: My immediate family, aunt, uncle, their 3 children, my other uncle and his 18 year preggo girlfriend (he's 32)

Guest list at my mentors: Her immediate family, ma- ma, poppy, aunt, uncle, and their 2 kiddos.

Now, note I do not have any grandparents so I suppose the lists would be equal.

At my mentors we played games, and talked at the dinner table.

At my mothers house we sat in  the living room on the floor, did not say grace, and laughed about fam members that were not there.

My mentor had made the comment on more than one occasion that she would be very hurt if her children went to someone else house for Christmas dinner?

I don't know if I agree with that? are you not able to spend some time with some family in which you truly care about .. blood related or not?

We had already eaten at my mother's house and were just hanging out.. is it not OK to go chill somewhere else?

This comparison is an observation of how 2 families can be totally different and have one thing in common ... yours truly.

Week in review

Welp. St Nick throws a hell of a party! Christmas was fantastic this year and I got more than  what I asked for.

Ed Hardy shirt, earrings, and new phone! I am truly blessed and there is not a day that goes by that I don't thank god for dying for me each day!

The man friend drama is way more that I want to type and quite frankly makes me tired just thinking about so I wont bore you with that. Just know that I might become a lezbo some time in the near future.

I want you all to know that giving is better than receiving and there is no person that likes to give more than I do.

To my surprise, some things got a little mixed up and people didn't get the gifts that were intended for them.

To make a negative big deal out of something that was supposed to be a gift of love is selfish, and uncalled for.

Enough said.

New Years is going to be amazing. we shall have a top 10 2009 list coming soon!

Cheers

Sheigh bells ring... are you listening?

The reason doctor's office's stay in business in Oklahoma is for the ever changing weather we have.

Current Temp is 41. Tonight's high is 21. With a side of freezing rain. Oklahoma roads, cars, and business are not equipped for such blizzards.

Last year was the most fun! Everything shut down for a week and we walked to the bar on a daily basis :)

Current Tunage is Nat King Cole's The Christmas Song and that really annoying movie version of Winter Wonderland.

I would marry Nat King Cole if he was alive. His songs make me want to get dressed up in a long black dress and dance really close with someone with my head on their shoulder.

Awe, Christmas is the best. I hate the cold tho... Perhaps a vaca spot like Miami will do me good :)

Christmas Time is Here!

Current Status: Filling out Christmas cards!

How fun! I totally love the holidays. The chilly feeling you get when you go inside the warm house from the cold. ** Christmas bonuses!! (just got mine) and more turkey.

I believe when I start my own family (heaven for bid) I will not do turkey for thanksgiving and Christmas... just one. It's so boring. We will start our own traditions and do something way different!

As for the weekend: Going to dinner with Mr. Champagne tonight and "supposedly" hanging out with Mr. R even though he has not confirmed our plans that I called him about on Wednesday. (starting to piss me off)

In other news: I was so tired from all that has been going home I left work early yesterday to go home and sleep.I told Boy #1 from my previous post (we shall call him Mr. College from now on) that I was sick and he totally called to check on me :) And he texted a few times just to make sure I was ok.

His vacation for a month will really put us to the test and make me see things in a different light. Lets hope its not a strobe. lol
