Social Media Quality vs Quantity

Social media: Quality vs Quantity has come up quite often in the past couple of week. I recently had my own run in with this controversial topic and felt inclined to set the record straight.

Visiting with a potentital client last week, he posed the question: "how realistic is it to have 100,000 fans on a business Facebook page in a 12 month period"?

My answer to him was.... Let me check on that. Not wanting to say something that I would later want to take back, I went home, did some research and this is what I came up with....

Quantity vs Qualitative objectives like those related with corporate reputation or conversations relevancy require a particular measurement approach.

If you are questioning which is more effective, begin asking closed questions to benchmark the brand:

Within our sector/product category, are we part of conversations?

Are we compared with our competitors?

To measure Social Media success, we may ask:

Were we able to build better relationships with our key audiences?

Are we participating in conversations where we previously weren’t?

Is our brand keeping still running monologue or is it moving to a meaningful dialogue with customers?

These questions begin to put every thing in place and it was clear that quality prevails.

In terms of social media you can focus on ROI, but that's result. Rapport, trust, leadership and relationships drives those results. - @shanegibson

As good as it gets...

Please make a mental note that I am saying I am content in life right now.

NO, I don't have the job of my dreams... but I am looking.
I don't have a boyfriend, and don't want one. My best friends are awesome, and my mother has not been a complete pain like she usually is.

It sometimes feels unreal that I have so many choices, that nothing can hold me back from getting the job I want or purchasing a house. It is all within reach.

This weekend was a good time. Friday went to see my mentor's daughter in a play (Grease) .. I have been singing "Your the one that I want" all weekend.

It was great to see her on stage. I was so proud of her! I got to sit with the family and it just felt great to be a part of it all.

I went out with the girls to hang out and have a drink. It was jammed packed and the people were acting weird in the club?

Drama went down with my friend and her EX and I wanted no part of it, yet somehow I ended up in it?

Saturday I went and ate lunch with a friend (the one that is ALWAYS late). I guess the good news is she was only 30 mins late this time. I just shrugged it off and we had a good time.

Went to the 2nd job at 4 and went out with Mr. Champagne at 10.

When we met up .. he looked so cute. Had his hair cute and a nice sweater on. He picked me up and we went to a cigar bar. I was weary about this cause I hate smoke and had a preconceived notion that there would be alot of older men in there.

To my surprise, there were tons of younger people there. It had the urban New York feeling with the lights low and a jazz band. I totally loved it. Really romantic and great.

I was starving and we ended up going to IHOP (the only place open at 11:30) and had a nice in-depth talk.

He paid for drinks and I paid for my food and went home.

Sunday I went to my 2nd job and had my phone in my pocket. I am so embarrassed that while in my pocket my phone called Mr. Champagne 5 times.

He finally texted me: " Hey your phone keeps calling me" . I apologized and told him I was at work. :)

Things are good now. He is going out of town for the holiday so it will be a while before we hang again.

It's my party and I can cry if I want to...

Birthdays.... What exactly is the big deal? It is the day that you popped out and said "Hello" to the world.

Since my grand entrance, with the exception of a few years, I have had some what of a lavish party to celebrate my birth.

Huge pizza party at 11, Boy-girl party at 13, and Delicious BBQ for the big
2-1!

But for some reason this year is different? Its not a milestone birthday just a regular year... So why is there so much drama?

After talking this over with my mentor she gave me some insightful information that made me have a different perspective about the predicament.

She says: " As you get older... its not always possible to have a party or get everyone together at once because of the busy lives that we live. So just know that all your friends love you and will show you with a gesture of their own". She also says that some years are better than others and you get blessings that you would never think of.

I don't know if I agree with that. Life is busy yes, But we somehow make it to hang out with "friends" after work, get together, and dinner.

2 hours for a friend's birthday dinner will not kill you (unless you don't like the person)

I will continue to try to not let the conflicting schedules, messed up invitations and over priced cakes worry me.

Perfection is one of my weaknesses.

MY life on the O list

**This post is actually from yesterday

So I must say that crazy epiphany I had last weekend has been showing itself all week. Not only am I done with people being 1/2 friends, I have just stopped putting up with BS all together.

No phone calls or returned texts... There has got to be a rule about this stuff. I have just turned over a new leaf and refuse to try as hard to be friends with people as  I have been. Period

In other news, I have started my goals for life sheet and much to my dismay it is harder than I thought it would be. I have separated it into sections... 2008/09, before I turn 30 and then before I die. Hopefully I can keep working on it and complete it soon.

So the reason this this entry is called "My life on the O list" is because I went to bricktown to meet friends last night, but before that I went to dinner that was pretty much a disaster. ( Don't even want to get into it.) My friends ended up ditching out early and I ended up up seeing a bunch of people from college and falling and hitting my head on the floor as I was hitting on this really hot boy... cool huh?

The night didnt end badly though. I met this man whom I will call Echo ( cause its to hard to spell it all out). He walked me to my car and was a gentleman I even offered to drive him to his car that was a mile and 1/2 away, but he opted to walk, which I thought was very different. He gave me his number and told me to call him. He is really busy though.

No one is too busy for a call every now and again?
